JustaShop - Entebbe | Uganda

The shop opened in Entebbe in 2019, providing a vibrant opportunity for artists and craft makers from the project to sell their creations directly to the public. Strategically located just 30 minutes from Kampala and adjacent to the airport, Entebbe quickly became a hotspot for visitors, thanks to its rich community of artists and various local art centers and markets.

Louis Rwamafa and Roots Natty initiated the establishment of the shop, collaborating with the dedicated support of their team to construct shelves, tables, and other essentials for showcasing the artists' works. The shop featured a stunning array of handmade items, including weavings, hammocks, bags, and textile creations by Vital Ntabala, who hails from a studio in Kampala.

To enrich the artistic experience, they also invited notable painters Bernard Omony and Tripple King to exhibit their work, enhancing the diversity of talent on display.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges, and the shop had to close in April 2020 due to government restrictions. Despite this setback, the resilience of the artists shone through, as their works remained accessible at the hub in Kampala, ensuring the continuation of their artistic expression and connection with the community.
