JustaHub invited the Scottish producer and musician Poros to Uganda to take part in a residency with other young Ugandan and Congolese artists working the in the musical field in Kampala.
March | Mural Art Week - Kyebando | Uganda
Afrika Arts Kollective invited JustaHub and other artists from East Africa to take part in their celebration of mural art in the area of Kyebando. During the week, artists and students were asked to take part in creating a mural on the theme of domestic violence.
May | Doa Doa Market - Kampala | Uganda
JustaHub was invited to create projections and decorate the evening stage for the DoaDoa Market located in Kampala. The event was once again an amazing opportunity for creatives from JustaHub to experiment and explore their creative productions within the realms of a professional local event targeting the East African music industry. An opportunity for networking sharing and artistic development.
August | Bayimba International Festival - Lunkulu Island | Uganda
We were honoured to be invited back for this second edition on Lunkulu Island by Bayimba Foundation to design the Bukunja stage hosting day time performances and night DJ sets. A giant weaved netting was created for the event as a projection screen for mapping and other digital production. JustaHub team would be on decks every evening including the final afterparty with a special night dedicated to Dj’s from JustaSound. The beach and surrounding areas were also decorated by creatives from the organisation using hammocks, paintings and colourful banners. The Bayimba Festival was once again the perfect residency and training grounds for local East African community artists to further develop their practices in stage production with JustaHub.

September | Sandra Nankoma - Protea Hotel | Uganda
Working with visual artist Sheila Nakitende, JustaHub created an immersive, 360 degree stage for Sandra Nankoma and her band for the Black Dame Experience, an event “where technology and music will combine to immerse the audience in a concert which explores a black and white world, where women are no longer held captive by societal expectations.”

October | Lily Kadima - National Theatre | Uganda
Once again alongside Sheila Nakitende, the JustaHub team designed and installed the stage dressing for Lily Kadima’s Nabirye in the City Experience, which explored “different experiences to empower young men and women to engage more in creative arts, embrace grass roots, our cultures and art through different music styles.”
November | Ghetto2Ghetto Tour - Kampala | Uganda
We were invited to join Ba Cypher Kabaka for the 7th Ghetto2Ghetto Tour as they travelled through the different ghettos of Kampala showcasing the MCs and artists of the pre-urban areas and inviting the local communities to take part in activities such as drumming and dance performances. JustaHub team created projections and decor for the afterparty of the Ghetto Tour - where all crews and tribes from the tour gathered around their MCs and Djs to celebrate their creative common visions in a local venue located in the city centre of Kampala.
