JustaHub Recordings begins publishing audiovisual work from artists around the world under three imprints: PHONO (Exploration and Sonic Forms) CULTURE (Stories and Messages) and I/O (Fluidity, Collaboration and a place to showcase external artists).
February | Open Hub day - Kansanga | Uganda
We opened the doors of the Hub in Kansanga to showcase the studios, artists and their work. There was also a discussion panel moderated by Sherief Skool of Ba Cypher Kabaka, which you can listen back to here.

June - | JustaShop - Entebbe | Uganda
The shop opens in Entebbe to sell the products of the various weavers and crafters who are part of the core crew and external to the project.
July - | Online Educational Programmes | Uganda/Scotland/France
Throughout 2020, we have been running educational programmes led by artists and academics from Europe in collaboration with those at the Hub in Uganda. These include:
Design with Jaz Saebel - focussing on photo editing, and graphics using the Adobe suite.
JustaWord - A programme led on the ground by the Hip-Hop Education Movement (H.E.M.) which sheds a light on the stories and writing of young Congolese refugees in Uganda. Monthly workshops with writing propositions are given by Marine Vassort, the output is then recorded and shared through JustaHub Recordings’ online portals.
Fashion/Textile Design with Elodie/Aphantaly Creation - A mentorship programme for our tailor, VItal Ntabala, this year they have been designing Kimonos using locally-sourced Ugandan cotton.
Music Production with Eddie Brennan-Smith & Johnmary Mukisa - A jointly run project to train those part of the team who are interested in sound and music with the skills necessary to record and produce their own music using the music software Ableton Live 10.
